Like I said, at first I thought I d be promoting her fiction novel, but then Tina sent me Forever Christian s media kit Upon reading the synopsis earlier today, I immediately demanded that she send me the book I NEEDED TO KNOW THIS CHILD I needed to know her story I read it in one hour, nodding my head at times, because I could relate to Tina as a mother and all the things she felt Other times I grabbed my chest, recognizing symptoms in my own son and wondering Could he be autistic too Don t worry you will do it too Then I read about his reactions to things and the things he did to himself and all I could utter was Holy F %k I cried several times just reading about their life with this precious little angel, their struggle for 9 years and how he could not understand why he didn t do things the way normal kids did it This story needs to be shared Awareness needs to be created for children who don t have a choice but to be different They feel, experience and love so much than we could ever comprehend Yet they are ostracized, sometimes feared, other times ridiculed but always hurt in one way or another by other s reactions Thank you Tina Thank you for sharing your book and opening my heart, tear ducts and my soul to the beauty that is Forever, Christian I look forward to reading about Christian as time goes by Until then I give you 5 stars but not the book Yes, I don t give this book 5 stars I give it 5 GALAXIES.

Forever, Christian by Tina Traverse is the most profound, heartfelt outpouring of desperation and love you could ever expect to read Just forget the autism for a moment and just soak in every mother s daily toil looking after a difficult child Then imagine multiplying those difficulties megafold and each and every day, week, month, year you are dragged into a pit of misery with no way out And do the doctors help you of course they do, as they off handedly diagnose nothing worse than hyper activity or purely normal reaction to a child growing up Then after 9 years of this torment a school teacher diagnoses your child with Autism, a not uncommon malady that all doctors should be aware of By now every mother would be screaming mad with the futility of how the medical profession are so indifferent to the plight of the not so well to do That school teacher could teach every doctor a thing or too about humility. This reader is in awe of Tina s journey with her beautiful Christian, how they have grown from desperation to hope to fulfilment All it took was some common sense from someone looking in rather than looking out. This FIVE STAR true life drama is a must read for every mother, whether they have an Autistic child or not, as Tina s book will inspire them to see what a gift they have in their children.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Forever Christian by Tina Traverse is a touching and very honest little book about the author s journey with her autistic child, Christian. This is not a comprehensive guide to autism, it is a very personal account of her experience and thoughts, with a very moving introduction by Christian himself. The book tells us of the life with Christian before the diagnosis and shows how hard it is to classify and recognise behaviour that is off the norm. The anecdotes and stories are most heart breaking and heart warming at the same time This book does not tell you what to do in the style of a how to guide, it tells you what life feels like, the errors the author made and the lessons she learns.A brave and important work that will show many people in the same position that love is the key, that there is hope and that they are not alone.

This is a short, true story, written by a mother It is an honest explanation of some gritty experiences, and the difficulties faced bringing up a child who has behavioural problems The family face professionals, who initially do not identify the real, underlying issues Finally, however, the truth is discovered Christian is diagnosed with Autism and gets help I wish the writer well in the journey that Christian is now taking From personal experience, though not Autism, I can empathise with this story, as well as the difficulties getting to the truth and consequently the relevant support On the basis that this is written from the heart and is a moving little story, I rate this book 5

This is a short but poignant account of what it is like to be the mother of an autistic child I rate this as a brave and honest non fiction book from Tina Traverse, better known as an author of vampire fiction.
